Q1. What is PGDM?
Ans. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a two year full time job-oriented program spread over four semesters with specializations in Marketing, Finance and Human Resource.
Q2. Is this program approved by any regulatory body?
Ans. Yes. PGDM Program of BITT is approved by All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE), New Delhi. AICTE is a statutory body under Ministry of HRD, Government
Q3. What are the eligibility criteria for admission into PGDM?
Ans. (a) Minimum Three years Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline
from a recognized Indian University (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks or
equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC and ST).
Candidates appearing for the final examination of the Bachelor's degree (or equivalent
examination) can also apply subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest
by 31st October of that academic year.
(b) Valid CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT/ATMA Test score.
Q4. Is BITT approved by AICTE?
Ans. Yes. BITT, Getlatu is approved by AICTE.
Q5. Does the Government of Jharkhand recognize BITT?
Ans. Yes. BITT, Getlatu has been recognized by Department of Science & Technology, Government of Jharkhand for conducting PGDM Program.
Q6. Does the Institute provide any Merit Scholarship to the students?
Ans. Yes, the Institute provides ‘Chairman Scholarship Award’ of Rs. 10,000/- to
the Semester topper of each batch.
Q7. Does AICTE provide any equivalence to PGDM Program?
Ans. AICTE recognizes PGDM as equivalent to MBA.
Q8. I am unable to afford the Course Fee. Will I get Education Loan from Banks?
Ans. BITT, Getlatu has a tie-up with the ‘Central Bank of India’ for extending
Education Loan to the new student entrants under the Bank's ‘Cent Vidyarthi
Scheme’, subject to their fulfilment of the eligibility criteria of the bank.
Besides, other banks have also expressed their willingness to extend education
loans to our students.
Q9. Should I buy my own Laptop or can the Institute provide it?
Ans. The Institute can provide you with a Laptop, the cost of of which would be charged over-and-above the Course Fee.
Q10. Does the Institute provide Hostel facility?
Ans. At present, the Institute makes arrangement for separate hostel for boys and
girls outside the campus. Separate hostel for boys and girls inside the campus,
with excellent facility, shall be ready for use by both old and new students
from the Academic Session 2013-14.
Q11. Tell about the Hostel Fee.
Ans. The hostel Fee for each semester is Rs. 27000/- which includes room rent and meal.
A Refundable Caution Deposit of Rs. 5000/- shall be applicable at the time of admission to Hostel.
Q12. I would like to know about the Library of your Institute?
Ans. The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is the nerve centre of BITT. The full
air-conditioned, well furnished and spacious reading room forms part of it.
Completely automated Library Management System helps students to search
available books at fingertips (Internet and Intranet), make reservations online,
and borrow it at any time during working hours. The Digital Library
contains Multi-media PCs, with Internet connectivity, for online access of over
28,000 Journals, Case studies, E-books, and other Electronic Databases.
BITT is a member of Emerald Management First, an award-winning Online
Resource that brings a wealth of resources – including over 680 articles, 1,000
case studies, 360 interviews, and over 250,000 article reviews – direct to the
desktop. As a member of J-Gate, an electronic gateway to global e-journal
literature, the Library presently has a massive database of journal literature
in Management & Social Sciences, indexed from 27576 e-journals with links to
full text at publisher sites. Developing Library Network (DELNET)
provides access to more than 7 lakh bibliographical records in its Databases
created/upgraded from time to time on its system for general use.
Q13. Is the focus only on Academics or are extracurricular activities encouraged?
Ans. BITT believes in the overall development of students. A host of
extracurricular activities, which are student centric, are encouraged here.

Q14. Does the Institute provide bus facility?
Ans. Yes, the Institute has its own buses that ply from the Institute Campus to all parts of the city.
Q15. How does BITT ensure autonomy?
Ans. (a) Curriculum: It gets updated at regular intervals on the recommendation
of the Academic Council of BITT.
(b) Examination: BITT has full-fledged Examination Department. The Department is
responsible for timely conduct of examinations and publication of results. It is
also responsible for question setting and answer sheet evaluation by a panel of
external professors. The faculty members of the institute have no role
whatsoever in the question setting and evaluation of answer sheets of semester
examinations. All examination related activities are carried out under the
strict supervision of the Examination Board, headed by the Director.
Q16. Being a fresher, do I need to get afraid of ragging?
Ans. Absolutely NOT. BITT Campus is a ragging-free zone.
An Anti-ragging Committee headed by the Director, has been constituted to ensure compliance with the provisions of any law for the time being in force concerning ragging and its prevention in the Institute Campus and Hostel(s).

Q17. What is the placement scenario of the Institute? Does the Institute provide
100% Placement Guarantee?
Ans. (a) The Institute has full-fledged Training & Placement Cell (TPC) headed
by the Dean-TPC, a senior faculty member in the Dept. of Management and having vast
experience in the Industry and Academia. All students of PGDM 2010 & 2011 batch
have been successfully placed in reputed companies for Summer Internship Program

(b) BITT provides 100% Placement Assistance to its students. The assistance starts
from the day one of the PGDM Programme. It involves: (i) Orientation classes on
Fundamentals of Computer & Mathematics- to instil basic computer skills and
strengthening the basics in Mathematics (ii) Language Lab classes- to enhance English
Communication Skills (iii) Personality Development classes- to enhance the ‘employability
skill’ of our students (iv) Guest lectures at regular intervals- to enable the students
to interact with the leaders from the Corporate world (v) Industrial visit in each
semester- to expose our students to the ‘real-world’ environment (vi) Host of Extra-curricular
activities- by organising events at such an ease instil a sense of ‘self belief’
among our students.
